Purpose and scope of application
NAPOR-R Grade IK-2M is a modified demulsifier reagent designed to break down water-in-oil emulsions across a wide range of process conditions. The product is used for the dehydration and desalting of various types of crude oil, ranging from low-viscosity grades to highly resinous and stable emulsions.
Grade IK-2M is characterized by a high active ingredient content - 45% (±10%) - which ensures enhanced demulsifying performance and resilience against fluctuations in emulsion composition. The reagent is suitable for both in-line demulsification and direct injection at oil treatment facility inlets, with dosage rates starting from 20 g per tonne of oil; it demonstrates stable performance even in low-temperature demulsification applications. The optimal dosage is determined based on the results of laboratory and field trials.
The demulsifier’s mechanism of action involves disrupting the interfacial film surrounding water droplets, reducing surface tension, and accelerating coalescence. This facilitates rapid water separation and ensures a consistent reduction in the residual water content of the oil.
NAPOR-R IK-2M has a kinematic viscosity of less than 60 mm²/s at 20°C and remains fluid at temperatures as low as –50°C (for the Siberian region) and –40°C (for the Ural-Volga and Southern regions).
The reagent has been successfully implemented at facilities operated by PJSC Tatneft, PJSC Rosneft, PJSC LUKOIL, JSC Tomskneft VNK, and other oil production companies.
