Purpose and scope of application
NAPOR-R Grade IK-1 is a water-soluble demulsifier reagent designed to effectively break down water-in-oil emulsions during the processing and transport of crude oil.
The reagent is used in pipeline demulsification processes, injected at a dosage starting from 20 g per tonne of oil; the specific dosage is determined based on laboratory and field trial results. NAPOR-R Grade IK-1 demonstrates high efficiency in low-temperature oil processing, which is particularly important for northern regions and facilities with limited thermal capabilities.
The demulsifier’s mechanism of action involves disrupting the protective film surrounding water droplets within the oil emulsion, reducing interfacial tension, and accelerating coalescence. This results in rapid water separation and a reduction in the residual water content of the oil.
NAPOR-R IK-1 is manufactured with an active ingredient content of 44% (±10%) and a kinematic viscosity of less than 60 mm²/s at 20°C; it remains fluid at temperatures as low as –50°C.
The reagent has undergone field testing at facilities operated by PJSC Tatneft, PJSC Rosneft, PJSC LUKOIL, JSC Tomskneft VNK, and other enterprises in Western Siberia, where it demonstrated stable demulsification properties comparable to imported alternatives.
