Purpose and Scope of Application of NAPOR-1004 - K
NAPOR-1004-K is a grade of the NAPOR-1004 corrosion inhibitor and bactericide, based on a water-soluble cationic surfactant. It is designed to inhibit sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) and protect equipment against corrosion and metal hydrogen embrittlement during oil and gas extraction and transport, as well as in the handling of wastewater containing hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide.
It is applied via continuous dosing into oil-water emulsions or through periodic injection into production wells. At a concentration of 15–30 g/m³ in the oil gathering system, it can help reduce the viscosity of oil-water emulsions (by up to 85%) and lower in-pipe pressure during transport.
To suppress SRB populations, periodic shock treatments at dosages of 50–200 g/m³ are used, depending on the level of contamination. In a standard solution of hydrogen sulfide-containing wastewater, it provides a protective effect of at least 90% at a dosage of 20 mg/dm³.
The "K" grade is characterized by an elevated amine value (110 mg HClO₄/g), an active ingredient mass fraction of 30% (±10%), and a phosphorus mass fraction of 30% (±10%). The pH range of a 1% aqueous solution is 6.0–10.0. The pour point is no higher than -40°C for all regions of application. It does not adversely affect oil refining processes or the quality of commercial crude oil. It exhibits a synergistic effect with a number of demulsifiers.
